Kioti LB2204 W/Loader
I realize now that the 19 folks that have looked at my post must think i'm some kind of dork :) no worries, i'm not. I just didn't want to put the wrong fluid in the wrong place, i've decided to just suck it up and go to the dealership and get the info i'm seeking. thanks anyway for at least reading my post.

Welcome to TBN. What kind of tractor do you have?

hello, I have a LB2204 kioti and I'm more concerned about the "gear shift" box and what fluid to put in there...thanks.

Sorry I cant help with the Kioti I have kubotas. I would search for a shop manual and parts manual as well as the operators manual. Most modern tractors use the hydraulic fluid for the transmission gear box. Is your machine a HST? Sounds like a silly question but my L4400 HST has a clutch and 3 gear ranges for the HST.

Is your machine a Hydrostatic Transmission meaning you push a pedal to go forward let up to stop and push a pedal to back up and let up to stop?

no it's not like that...have to shift for different speeds. there is a high and low 4 gears. make sense?

I searched Tractor data and this appears to be an older Kioti .
If this is correct you have a standard not HST and you would most likely use Hytran fluid this is a multipurpose fluid for the Hydraulics and the geared transmission. I would consult the Kioti dealer though. There are manuals available for the tractor.

thank you again. my list of fluid includes the following that came with the tractor and as silly as this sounds i just wanted to know which one goes in the gear compartment...."tran/hydraulic: JD-303, front differential GL-5 85w-90, coolant: Napa 50/50 and Engin: Chevron Delo 15w-40 Diesel Oil" I know it's not the coolant, and i know it's not the chevron 15w-40 but i'm unsure about the other two....

The JD 303 tran / hydraulic goes in the common gear / hydraulic sump and it would probably be the largest container of oil that you have. The 85w-90 would go into the front differential of a 4WD tractor. I assume the dealer sent you home with the fluids and did not tell what went where. Most tractors transmission gear box shares the same oil as the hydraulics. Is your tractor a four wheel drive? More details would help make sure what goes where or have you solved this?
