Having gone from an OS for years to a cab I can mention some points although have had the cab model only about a month (42hrs already!). It is a pain to climb in and out when just doing odd chores here and there. You are also a little more detached from doing fine work like using FEL or tilling but after awhile you adapt just the same as a semi driver does when transitioning from a personal car to the big rig. Controls do not seem as responsive but you learn to feather them and I attribute some of that to newness, they are starting to loosen up a little. Not much downside for me. On the plus, the cab adds weight which is a good thing. However the whole purpose of a cab is climate control and for that I could not be happier. It is pressurized which means the dust and dirt do not get in. Mine is sealed so well that I have to crack the back window open to get the door to shut tight. Don't mind doing that, has already become habit. Cold windy days I'm still out getting work done where before I would have avoided it. Tilling garden yesterday with wind blowing and dirt rolling around the back did not bother me a bit for the first time and I look forward to not having all of those dandelion white things flying into my eyes when the mowing starts up. Did not get it in time to use during a snowstorm which is why I got it in the first place but have had some very cold days out smoothing the driveway and that cab gets toasty warm very quick. Have been out using the FEL on some warm days lately and the AC keeps it very comfortable. One last thing, being able to hear and enjoy a radio/CD player sure makes seat time even more fun. Oops, one more thing. Having the beverage of your choice at your fingertips without dirt, grass, or bugs on the rim of it to clean off is nice!
Kind of a windy post but a cab is not for everybody or even very good for every situation. Simply a personal choice.
