Mike,

Congratulations!!!. You picked a good tractor even though it isn't blue, just kidding. Your purchase will give lots of fun and memories. Take good care of it and stay safe with it.

As fas as out of town dealers you are right. I ended buying mine from small town dealer. The town held 100 people at Christmas time. They had an open house last week. Fed everybody that came and you know, they call me by my first name. Not just the salesperson but the counter girl and the most of the tech's. That is a good feeling espeically when I only bought a small tractor. I can see it if I bought a 200 hp rig or something.

Now you have the waiting period, did they tell you how long it would be. The other thing you have to do is get yourself a camera and take some pictures to post. Oh yes, sounds like your wife is going to want to run it also. Be careful because they can steal your seat time if you don't watch out.

I'm sorry, if I mislead anyone to think that I would EVER get to actually USE this tractor... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have been reading these threads and am very impressed with the knowledge and helpful responses on all these boards
I have finally decided to "pull the trigger" too
4310 e-hydro
R-4's
430 FEl w/72" HD bucket
48 BH w/ 18" hd bucket
272 R.M.M
MX5
I match
the best I can do is $29,000
The dealer is stuck at that price.
What can I ask for as far as the little things

bowbender, suggest you ask about 3rd,4th,and 5th remotes. 3rd would be for any mid mount equipt. or front snow blower, or front blade. 4th and 5th are rear remotes used for top & tilt,or any hydraulic operated functions on the rear. Ask the dealer to throw in a weight box, for FEL use without BH on, or rear quick hitch.

I did my best by soliciting bids from area dealers. I did a dealer locate on Deere's site and sent an email to each area dealer. Most were within a small varience, but one blew them out of the water. The others were willing to match his price, once I told them I was going to do a deal with him.

But distance wasn't an issue, I will be just as happy to deal with the guy who gave the better price first. He's as close as any of them...

Checked on delivery time today...

Well looks like it won't be till Mid April to receive ny 4310... Guess I get to find out what its like to wait. At least there won't be any shortage of things to do when it arrives...

In the meantime, I can catch up on other things. I can read the owners manual, downloaded from Deere's site. Figure out how I want to load my tires (used antifreeze is free, Windshield Washer fluid is real cheap - but not recommended by Deere...) Maybe i can find rim guard...

Look at Bush Hogs, gotta find a 6-8 foot cutter...

Maybe I'll build a new machine shed...

Sure is a long time, though /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Checked on delivery time today...

Hey guys, you are making me jealous with all these backhoes. Rockyridge, I can't figure out what is taking your dealer so long to fill your order. Mine has 4310's in stock and tells me he can get more in 7 to 10 days. Maybe the implements are holding things up. Keep us posted. Welcome to the site. Enjoy your new tractors guys!
Oh yes, Mike, if you are talking about a shredder(rotary mower), I recommend staying with a 5 foot model for power reasons. If you are talking finish mower, get the 6 footer. A MMM is easier to manuever in tight spots, but harder to take on and off. Any rear mower wider than your tractor requires a bunch of neck craning in tight spots. Anyway, I'm sure your wife has a nice neck so you won't mind rubbing it when she gets a kink in it from all that stolen seat time. hahaha Folks that are as wide as the mower itself have an advantage of knowing that if they fit, the mower should fit too. Not talking about you are your wife though.

Re: Checked on delivery time today...

I could have gone with a dealer that had several in stock. But this is the guy that gave me such a great price at first. I knew I'd have to wait, but decided as bad as the wait was, this is the dealer we wanted to trade with. Any of the dealers here had to order the backhoe.

I had a hard decision between the 47 and 48, but the 47 was $4800.00, which is still a lot of money, but do-able. Thanks for your advice on the 48. I did carefully consider it. It kinda got down to having a 47, or wanting a 48...

Why am I trying to expain going smaller to someone from BajaOklahoma?
( /forums/images/graemlins/smile.giftexas, down your way) Everything gotta be bigger /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, Oh well...
