I am the new owner, and am going through repairing the hack jobs by the PO
. Newest one is the charging system. It is a Hitachi alternator with three wires that connect. I am not getting any charging voltage.
One is the BAT connection which traces fine to the starter and the battery connection.
The other is a two prong connector that looks to plug into the internal regulator. It looks like a capital "T". One wire has been cut and removed, that one would be the top of the "T". I believe that one goes to the idiot light. I do not know if this model needs a functioning idiot light to make the charging system operate. I do have a manual, and that circuit shows a diode, light and resistor. It does not give the size of the resistor.
Can anyone help me with this issue, and how to rewire it properly? I do know that it is possible that a replacement alternator may be needed.
Thanks!
