I have a TD95D with an ongoing problem with the AC belt. It started after my local dealer worked on it trying to figure out whythe engine wouldn't run and they had my injection pump rebuilt. Several months later it turned out to be just the fuel pump but anyway, they gave it back to me with a broken adjuster arm on the ac compressor. I told them about it and after arguing for a while about who broke it they finally replaced it. When the mechanic tightened it up he broke the new one and either didn't notice or just hoped I wouldn't notice. I complained again and they replaced it again. It also broke again!
Now it has it's 3rd adjuster arm on the compressor and I swear I have never touched it but it has also been broken since I brought it home the last time. Several months ago. I will never take my tractor into that dealer again. It's out of warranty now anyway. The belt is so loose now though that it squeels like crazy every time the clutch engages. It's so irritating not being able to adjust it. I've considered making a new adjuster myself but haven't had the time. Any of you have any ideas how to fix this problem? It is cracking right where the bolt goes through it.

It doesn't get hot enough to need AC in West Texas, does it?;)

That's gotta be a really frustrating problem. It sounds like the "deluxe" joysticks that kept breaking on the early Class III Boomers. I don't think this is a dealer problem. It sure sounds like a design problem to me. Since you are out of warranty, you'll have to fix this yourself with minimum downtime, or let someone else fix it with even more downtime. I think I'd take that adjuster bracket off and see if it could not be "beefed up" a little more. Your choice seems to be that you will lose a little time now or do without AC when it really gets hot this summer. I think I'd bite the bullet and do it now.

With your history on this tractor, I don't think I'd waste my time trying to get a fix from New Holland. That will only cost you time and more frustration. Maybe a machine shop could look at the adjuster and figure out how to strengthen it satisfactorily. Good luck!:)

Look to see if adjuster lines up parallel with where it bolts to. Some times when disassembling, things small spacers can fall out without being seen. If you didn't see it fall you wouldn't know it was missing.

The compressor is aligned good. I used to get that problem on GM trucks to fix a lot so it was the first thing I checked.

I actually came up with an idea last night to fix it. I thought about fabricating the piece to bolt to the compressor then welding a small turnbuckle to the other end that bolts to the engine for the adjuster. I have to go look at it again to see exactly how to do it but I think I can make it work. I'm busy putting a EZ guide 500 in right now and the ac is on the back burner for a day or so.
