- Ford: '88 3910 Series II, '80 3600, '65 3000; '07 6530C Branson with FEL, 2020 LS MT225S. Case-IH 395 and 895 with cab. All Diesels
Bought new 6530 in Sept. 2007. This spring I was readying the tractor for summer haying season. AC was acting funny so I started paying attention to what it was doing and the compressor clutch engagement was erratic. Several things could cause this so in looking in my manual for electrical switches that had to be satisfied for operation, the main power relay was the first choice since it arcs every time the compressor cycles off and pitted contacts which don't carry proper current are always a problem with high load inductive circuits.
In looking at the relay panel, containing some 7 relays, I found that Branson used a common relay for multiple functions. Neat. I just pulled out the AC relay and installed a relay operating the Over the Cab Lights and WALA, problem solved. Got on the www, found some parts (generic part number stamped on the side of the relay), got the parts in, swapped out the now bad light relay and that's that.
