Copper Adhesives, Copper Glue, Copper Bonding - Cyberbond

Ain't new, NASA been using it for at least 10 years.

Ya know what holds skin on airplanes last 15 years, and fiberglass panels on aluminum trailer box frames? Sure ain't rivets any more.

No laughing from me (removed), I wouldn't blame folks if they laugh and ask what I was smoking when I saw something over 20 years ago. I recieved a call wanting to sell me 2-part epoxy that is guaranteed to stop leaks in refrigeration lines. As I said in this thread earlier,I'm a real tightwad and I wasn't falling for his promises. I told him I would buy it if he could prove the claim. One kit was $50 and he offed to prove his claim if I would pay cash and buy $700 worth to make it worth his time. I had a leaking condenser on the back burner for repair because the leak was where aluminum line connects to copper line. When we met 2 days later at the jobsite, the kid was dressed more suitable to take out his girlfriend than doing field repairs. He disconnected low volt wire, removed britches from unit, wiped oil and dirt off joint, kneaded putty with bare hands and applied it to joint. We killed 20 minutes talking before he reconnected low volt wire to start unit. The no leak . I paid him but fully expected leak to re-appear. I went by once per week to check. After 3 weeks I billed customer for amount I quoted when leak was found. All things considered, the 14 kits would be a bargain at $2,,,,,,if they all worked as well as I had seen. BUT,what if it didn't work at all? And what if a few beers during heated debate with some guys resulted in a bet? After solvent cleaning, sanding, some wasted kits, hoots, laughter and beer spitting,I realized I may as well be putting play dough on the leak.:confused3: I'm not even sure the term "scammed" had been invented at that time but sucker, fool and blow hard certainly was popular around the watering hole for a while.
