After lusting for an RTV for years, I broke down and bought a Worksite model. I love it!!

I thought I would get some advice about some additions. Please chime in with any experience you have.

1. Winch and mount- How heavy of a winch do you recommend? Any specific units that have worked well? Looking for a mount that is bolt-on fit for the machine. I hate the idea of drilling holes in a new piece of equipment.

2. Hood rack-anyone use one? I am thinking it would be a convenient place for saws, gas, oil, etc when I go to the woods.

3. Gun storage- what are you using for that? I have thought that a hood rack would let me use any type of ATV gun grabbers, but then I don't know if I would like my gun riding in front, to catch on anything (branches) that may be in the way.

4. Snow plow- don't really need one having the tractor, but have thought about it. I won't spend the money for a Kubota unit, any experience with aftermarket units?

Thanks for any help.

Congrats on the new RTV! Not sure how much help I can be but here goes.

1. I believe Kubota makes a winch mount that I would think does not involve drilling. As far as a winch, you can't go wrong with a Warn. I would get a winch rated at least 1.5 times the weight of your RTV, I'm going to be buying a winch for my Jeep soon and am going a little more than double my Jeeps weight, there is a lot of resistance if a vehicle is struck.

2. Can't help much with this but I would think it would be extremely convenient for all sorts of stuff.

3. What about a gun rack to go behind the seats, like you used to see in the rear window of trucks.

4. Again not much help but if you normally use the tractor why not use this money for other toys/accessories.

Any pics of your RTV?

1. Winch and mount - Warn 4,000 with synthetic rope not wire(easy on the hands).

2. Hood rack - Roof would be better to keep rain off and hood rack on top for stuff.

3. Gun storage - many options, but over head on back rack above your head is out of the way place. Roof would keep it dry.

4. Snow plow - had a kubota plow and had great fun and worked well. Lots heavier models available. How deep are your pockets.

5. Air Intake - most important item. Look for high air intake. Kits available from Kubota, but home made units work well also and are cheaper. Really saves your air filter to have a higher intake.

#3 - Gun Storage.
Take a look at these:
UTV GUN RACK « Big Sky Racks

I've got the 2 gun model mounted on the roof of my Ranger, works great and solid. Bought mine off Amazon but also have them at Cabelas. Good ratings by users.

Thanks for the replies. I've considered the overhead racks, good to see people like them. I have a roof on the machine, so I think the hood rack should work well.

I know from others that Warn are top of the line winches. I'll see if I can find one with a mount.

Pic of rack I linked on my Ranger

Also a pic of a standard auto rear view. I drilled two holes on the little tab you usually glue to the glass. Countersunk them and attached to roof with two sheet metal screws. Works great.

Harbour Freight makes a winch platform that fits the Reese hitch slot. My RTV1140 has slots front and back but I don't know if your 900 does.
