I have a Bolens HT23 that I just picked up a 3PH for. I am wanting to make (or buy) some kind of removable adapter to allow me to use light weight Cat 1 implements with it. I know I cant use all Cat 1 implements but things like the Cat 1 drawbar would fine and that way I wouldn't have to buy a Cat 0 drawbar etc.

Thanks all

Greg

You can always use bushings to go from the larger Cat 1 to Cat 0, but I don't know of any easy way to go the other direction. You could put a smaller pin on some Cat 1 implements, but the pins are not removable on a drawbar. You might grind them down to fit. Of course, I guess you could put a Cat 1 Pat's system onto your Cat 0 lift arms, but that might take some fixin' to make it work too.

Here's a link to a size chart:

Greg, some Cat 1 implements are fairly easy to convert to Cat 0 - you can get Cat 0 pins, and put them on in place of the Cat 1 pins, but facing inwards. I have heard about special pins with a Cat 1 threaded end and a Cat 0 pin end which would be perfect for that, or you could use bushings. Then you also use a couple of bushings on the Cat 0 toplink. That doesn't work with all attachments, of course, and it surely doesn't work with a drawbar.

Another option would be to get a set of Cat 1 arms here: Ruegg MFG LLC The arms are Cat 0 at the tractor end, but Cat 1 at the business end. Not sure if they would fit your setup, but might be worth a try.

I think I'd cut off my cat 0 ends and weld on some cat 1 ends. then use bushings to make upt he difference when i used a cat0 implement. onthe toplink.. do the same..

they make the weld on ends and sell than at TSC, as well as the bushings

This looks like the same kit that is used on my Simplicity Legacy XL. The only difference between the arms on older Simplicitys with Cat 0 is the pin size and that the lift arms are flared out to make the wider spacing for Cat 1. My top link has a Cat 0 on the tractor end, and Cat 1 on the implement end.

King Kutter makes the XB series attachments for smaller tractors with Cat 1 spacing.
