I found a cheap Cub Cadet snow blower - from pictures it looks like single stage and in OK condition.

Now I am thinking about adapting it to my Kubota (20HP, 17 on 3pt) 3 point hitch. I can machine and/or modify parts I need, the question is if it makes sense, how good is the blower and if it will hold up to it.

One problem I can see is in rpms, the 3pt runs 540, I would think that gas powered LG tractor puts highers rpms out.

What do you think? I am either way, would love to have a snow blower, but I don't really need another project.

Thank you, gentlemen

My father has a single stage on his tractor and my brother has a dual stage, no comparison, the single dogs down, plugs up and just doesn't throw the snow very well.

You've probably hit on the main drawback, and that's the RPM the unit would be turning. It may or may not be an issue. I think you should see if you can research just what the normal RPM is for that or a similar unit. As far as it being a single stage unit, I had one for years and they work just fine.

Yea, that's an oldie. Probably 30 years old. Too small and too much headache for a 3 pt conversion.

Just FYI....I've seen some Cub blowers on Ebay for around 500-600 bucks, they are new leftover model 818's, that went on the 5000 series sub-compacts.... 2 stage 48" shaft drive medium duty blowers. Probably be much easier to convert, and much more capable.
In any event, good luck!

Thanks, I know where to go for information if I ever found one.

But yesterday we got snow and I cleaned all that was needed in 30 minutes with back blade - including a joy ride around the property. I don't really need snow blower for the tractor in Virginia.
