I've tried various things to carry a water bottle, gloves, and hand pruners within reach while operating the tractor. Many people would carry a cell phone or fence pliers as well.

Last weekend I hung a rigger's bag (canvas purse/toolbag) on the inside of the right fender just behind the seat and I think this has solved my problem.

How have others dealt with carrying small objects?

Minimum specifications should be to keep a quart Gatorade bottle within fingertip reach.

I mounted a box on my rear finish mower to handle pins, bolts, wrenches....whatever. For the cold drink I use a Stukcup , now comes in 2 sizes.

WOW they are now cheaper than I paid /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
WAY cheaper

At work, we order cutting teeth for a big milling machine. They come drop shipped via ups in these plastic boxes.. about 10" long, and 6x8" or so.. with a handle.. kinda a generic looking 'tool box'

I mounted one to my fender.. worked great for small tools and pins.. etc.

I bolted an ammo box to the front bumper to carry pins, chains, cutters, etc. Works great for that stuff but it would not work for items needed while on the tractor.

This shows why I want the hand pruners within reach, and storage for the water bottle within the silhouette of the tractor.

The picture shows where I was covered in prickly blackberry vines that the loader dislodged from an old apple tree I was working to clear. Backing up wrapped the vines around my head so I stopped to cut my way clear, then took this picture. Farther down the row I snagged that plastic water bottle and ran over it before I noticed.

For now, hanging a canvas bag down the inside/back of the right fender works ok.

Has anyone fabricated a toolbox mount behind the seat? That's the only location that won't snag on low orchard limbs.

Some of the NH units had a tool box behind the seat. My ex-NH 1920 had one there..

California,
From the look of that picture you need a front mounted brush-hog not just a beverage box!

I have a small rectangular basket that I attached with self tapping screws onto the top of my fender just behind the "handle" and turn signal. It's really convienant.
