Add alternator to JD 314

Its a long story involving my ''Frankenstein 314'' which I'll not get into now.
My question is can I add an alternator to replace the charging system?

Yup. You can get "one wire" alternators at most auto parts stores. The hardest part is mounting it in the right place for good belt alignment.

I would rather buy a standard alternator with a internal regulator. You can get one for a 79 monte carlo and only have two wires. The charge wire and the trigger wire from the ignition switch.

google, "3g alternators", you can get these second hand from your local scrap yard cheap,
they usually come from Ford's in their mid 90's.
They have the 90 and 130 amp outputs, work great.

I put a Mini on mine .......... cheap .... new, not rebuilt and fits into the small area I had to work with.......
