I've got a Kubota MX5400 that I use with a Woods RD-990X to mow about 4-5 acres of turf airstrip. The MX5400 was bought for the sole purpose of mowing, so it does not have a front end loader and the associated hydraulics. (On the dealer lot, it did have a dealer-installed loader, but this and the joystick were removed prior to the sale.) I am now thinking about trading the RD-990X for a Woods TBW12.20 12' batwing finishing mower. The TBW12.20 uses hydraulic cylinders to fold the batwings. My questions are these:
John
- How complicated/expensive is it to add a hydraulic line and control for the batwing mower?
- Is it possible to add just the single line to the rear and control, or will this require some sort of quick-disconnects and joy stick as is used for a front end loader?
- Is there a DIY kit to do this, or is it best left to the dealer?
- The Woods TBW12.20 is nearly $16,000. If I had the selling dealer also install the hydraulics, should I expect some substantial discount on the hydraulics installation?
