I had a 72" bucket grapple on my 3830. It was so heavy the loader was overloaded to start with.
Found this on Ebay, Grapple
Works like a champ.
I already had an extra valve from Construction Attachments.

Pic with grapple open.
It is very easy to take off when not needed, 3 pins 2 quick disconnects.

Nice work.... the seller has already upped the price from $425 to $450 and the shipping from $25 to $60. They must be selling well or the price of steel has changed drastically in the past month.... A $40 increase in the shipping must relate to the cost of fuel. Good thing that you bought when you did, because at the present rate of inflation, by the spring, these costs will double.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Junkman you may need to check the sellers new ad once again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif When I checked the ad the seller did raise the price of the grapple to $450. but for a limited time shipping will be free. Now get back in there and bid. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just checked and that seller has two active auctions. One is for a skid steer bucket grapple and the other is for a tractor bucket grapple. One is $425 with $25 shipping and the other is $450 with free shipping. Either way I figure it, it comes out to $450 at your door. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I like that. I have been looking to make or buy a grapple like for my loader bucket. ATI Corp ATI Web Site offers one made to bolt on the sides of the bucket (see attached pic). I haven't called them to get a price. Just comparing the pics I was wondering what people thought might be the pros and cons of each. The EBay grapple looks like it has a beefier hyd cylinder. Flat bar attachment along the top might be an issue for some peoples bucket type. On my Magnatrac I've got a pretty strong flat top on the bucket and I don't have a center chain hook so either type looks like it would just bolt right on. The $450 price seems affordable enough to save me the effort of building one.

Gerald - Is there anything that you had to reinforce/modify to install on your Kubota? Are you happy with the quality of the grapple construction?

John,

Sometime earlier in another thread someone had posted that they had problems using their bucket next to buildings coming to it do dump or backdragging away from it because of the grapple extending out too far with the bucket tilted forward.

That would be one situation when being able to easily remove the bucket grapple when you're not using it would be a plus. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have the ATI grapple. I have had problems hitting things with the grapple when the bucket is in the dumped mode. I don't know how heavy it is but it is removable by pulling 3 pins. I am planning on building a holder for it so that I can remove it when I am doing solely dirt work.

Yes that is another feature I like about these grapples is that they can be put on and taken off easy.

Vernon - Can you tell me how the ATI grapple price compares with the $450 Ebay grapple? Are you satisfied with its performance for grapple type work? Is it well made?

john, i have the ATI grapple as well. It's great cost was about $700
delivered and is well made But you have to weld the 2 end plates
to the tube .No big problem unless you don't weld
