Adding a remote to TC25

I have a TC25, 4wd, 9x3, that I would like to add a hydraulic remote (single valve) so that I can use a log splitter. I understand that the splitter will have its own valve but this seems like it would be the most flexible means of providing the hydraulics.

It seems as though this would not be too complicated, but what are the issues that I should be aware of and does anyone recommend against doing it myself? I don’t know what I don’t know.

Does your tractor have a hyds block with a PB port or aux port on it for running a loader.. perhaps on the lower to mid, right side.. just follow the lines from the hydro pump..e tc?

The best advice I can give you is to send a PM to MikePA. He installed remotes on his TC25 several years ago and posted pictures. I'm not sure if the pictures made it in the last TBN software upgrade, so that's why I'd suggest sending him a private message. Mike will be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.

Actually, Randy, that is Mike aka PineRidge. MikePA is one of the moderators and his tractor is not a TC40D. His tractor is a TC25D just like the one HeavyToy has. The remote install is quite a bit different than on our Class III machines.

Speaking of the class III machines. Are those the 'deluxe' remotes? ( same as my 7610s uses? ) When i had to get a new remote spool pack, I'm almost sure the parts man said they pulle dit off a salvaged tn model.. but.. then again.. it was noisy int he shop and i may have misheard. All i was concerned with was that they worked and were half the price of new ones!

I recommend buying the kit from your NH dealer. The install isn't hard, if you take the right, rear wheel off. Here's a link, complete with pictures. It's not my install, but the steps are the same for any Class II. Link

Almost certainly, your 7610s remotes are different. To my knowledge, all Boomers of Class III, II, and I use the same remote body, and the difference in the kit is the plumbing and actuator levers. The levers don't have any detent and always return to center. The TC55 and TC48 have two types of remotes. One type can have a "float" position and the other type is the return-to-center. Your 7610s may be similar to the TC55 or TC48 because they have a rated hydraulic flow up around 12 gpm. The Class III boomers will pump about 9.5 gpm and the others something less. I think your 7610s remotes are made for much more flow and maybe even higher pressures than any of the Boomers.

Yes.. the remotes on my 7610s have float, and detent, and auto return to center at full stroke, and dial adjustable flow control at the coupler pack. I wasn't sure if this was 'standard' or not.. as I havn't scope dout any other smaller NH's with remotes since the 'fiberglass hood' models came out...
