I added a hyd thumb to my B21. It has worked flawlessly for years now. Here is the thread with detailed explanations for what I did and why. On the valve, I put a directional control valve on the fender so it is available to operate the thumb or anything else at the rear of the tractor such as hydraulic scarifiers on the box blade.
