Adding lights on my BX2230

So I have been needing lighting on my ROPS bar for loader and rear attachment work for quite some time. I have the mounting worked out of four Harbor Freight utility lights that I got got $10 a pair. My question is where and how to tap in to the wiring to power them up. I am fine with them coming on with the headlights, but worry that just tapping into a tail light may be a little to much load for the wiring and the switch. I thought a relay may be better, with power off of the the fuse box (if it has one...Can't find it) even though this is more difficult of course. Any tips, tricks, or suggestions are very welcome. I just jammed a wire into the positive on the battery and put a in line fuse in it. I then mounted a switch on the area beside the steering wheel.

Does you Bx have a large enough altenator to power the lights? I know some of them had a pretty low power unit.

I kind of like this magnetic light from Norther Tool. You simply plug it into your 12-volt port and go. No hassle with splicing wires.

I like the magnetic idea, you can move it as needed and keep it stored out f the way. Cool.

I can't speak for your model- but have you tried looking for a bullet wire connection that is taped or hidden behind the seat that shares the same loom for rear tail lights?
i am curious to see if 2230 is same as 50 series.

I did the magnet style light, works well enough for most things,I added a 12 volt cig lighter recepticle behind seat,used wire that is already there [do a search should find info] to power it up.light comes with 8ft cord allows for movement but must keep excess together when not needed, hard bumps can knock it loose but must be HARD. If installing to many alternator will not handle for sure. I'd go with some sort of LED'S which use much less curent and will be easier on alternator.

I ended up locating the red and black wires under the seat and see they are on the worklight circuit. Added two 55w lights with one to the front and one to the rear to keep amperage in a sane range as these two draw 9 amps. They turn off with the key and will work off of the headlight switch as soon as I get a working relay to control it. The one I had in the garage was bad. I tested them and they are pretty decent. Fuse protected on the factory circuit and all. Sweet! Thanks everyone for your assistance on yet another tractor project.
