Help - How do I add a link to a previous post into a post or in a reply to a post? Thanks, in advance! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Rusty

Go to the link you want to reference. I prefer to open another instance of my browser so my posting page stays in place. Highlight the URL/Address and hit <Ctrl>C.

Go back to your post and hit the markup option "URL" (located below the posting dialog box.) At the first prompt box hit <Ctrl>V, which enters the address. In the next prompt box, enter the title of the link you want to reference. If you're previewing posts, you can check your link to make sure it worked.

Just to clarify:

Ctrl-C = COPY
Ctrl-V = PASTE

You can also use your right mouse button to open a menu to copy/paste or the Edit menu in the browser window as well. (Note: You must have something highlighted before the CUT/COPY options get enabled)

I replied in the other thread before I got to your question. Same description as others but using mouse clicks. Click Here

Glad we were able to help.
Test 2 can create a problem on TBN. It will make page not rap around to next line if the address is longer than a normal page width.

Rusty, one more thing to learn about posting URLs...My standard 'Long URL' message follows.

MikePA: Cleaned up long URL. Please review your message before posting it. It's simple not to do this. Just insert a descriptive word or two between the {url=http://whatever}<font color="red">Enter words here</font>{/url} instead of the entire URL. Replace parentheses with brackets in previous example.
