Adding rear remote to my 1533

When I bought my 1533 I told the dealer I was planning on buying a PTO mixer in the near future and would like to be able to add a rear remote to the tractor to operate the cylinder to dump the mixer. They told me it would be no problem to add it later, now I've found out that if I'd have purchased the tractor setup that way the price would have only been about $300 more but now it's going to cost over $1000.00 to do it. What's the best way to go about adding a rear remote to the 1533 so I can use the hydraulic cylinder that came with my PTO mixer and in the future possibly add a hydraulic top link? Current setup is factory FEL (1525) with the factory mounted joystick for it. Thanks,

Are you sure that the $1000 price wasn't for two remotes? If you don't go with the factory set-up, you can add a valve in line with your loader valve and before the three point.

Yes I was just looking at my notes and the price was $1200 for two rear remotes. I don't think I need more than one though unless the cost difference between one or two isn't much. What do you think it would cost me to go the way you described and add one?

For half of the $1200, I think that you could have a pretty nice set-up.

You would have to get an open center valve. I would think that you would want two spools anyway, that would give you two sets of remotes. It would need to be at least capable of 8-9 gpm flow and have a power beyond plug. You might be about to find on at the Supply Center. Lets condense this a little. The valve need to have:
Open center
Double acting
Power beyond
Capable of 8-9 GPM flow
2 spools
load check on each spool

Here is a valve that has everything that you need. It is a little on the big side, but is a good example. The biggest problem in installing a system other than the factory one is to come up with a place to put it and a mounting system. Is your joystick for the loader mounted on the tractor or on the loader?
This is a one-piece solid valve called a monoblock valve. It is the type of valve that is used on most loaders that have the valve mounted on the loader frame. It also seems to be the most used type by people wanting to do what you are wanting to do. There is also what is called a stack valve. You can actually pick each spool out the way that you want them. One of the nice things about a stack valve is that you can go back at a later time and add more spools.

Also if you look hard you can see where the 2 spots are for the factory remote handles at the rear of that silver bracket.

A good choice for a stackable valve is the Prince SV. It is relatively small, size wise, but will handle your hydraulic flow and it offers a good selection of spool types. I have a 3 spool version on my tractor and I know of several others who have used this valve.
