I have a '95 5200 4x4 with two sets of joystick controlled (rear mounted) SCVs for the loader.
I would like to add three more sets of SCVs using a standard hydraulic valve rather than buying the (expensive) JD kit, and at the same time, move the joystick SCVs to a mid-mount position like they should have been to start with.

There are three plugs on the current JD joystick-controlled valve, and I assume two of these must be pressure and return. Correct?

Can anyone tell me which is which?

Thanks,
Phillip

My first suggestion is to purchase the tech. manual from SelectManuals.com - Workshop, Repair and Service Manuals, from John Deere or E-Bay. The manual will answer your questions.

On the mid-mounts there is 2 ways to go one is to purchase kit LV10069 (MID-MOUNT COUPLER KIT) which is a kit with lines from the dual SCV (I guessing this is what you have and your tractor is open-station) to under the step. Look at JD parts (URL included as there is a couple other parts needed and does not include hoses to loader). The second way is SCV HYDRAULIC LINES (MID-MOUNT CONTROL VALVE) you can look at this on JD parts, I am thinking this is not the way you want to go as this connection is where you are planning make connection for the 3 more SCV connections.

What I can tell the 5200 and 5210 in the area of hydraulics is the same, but the following comments are from looking at the tech. manual for the 5x10. Note where you want to make the 3 more SCV connection is where power beyond would go. There are 3 ports, if you are standing looking over the right rear wheel (rear fender off). Top left is return to tank port, bottom port to the back of the tractor excess flow return port and bottom port to the front of the tractor pressure oil port. The 5200 is open center hydraulic system. I am guessing you know what open center means.

My neighbor has his loader connected using the ports in the back that you want to connect to (I included a picture) the two lines run up to SCVs and another joystick and loader connections, which is just in front of factory joystick ie he has 2 joysticks. This maybe the way you want to go. The only downside I see how he has this is I do not think you can take the loader off, not enough hose length. I do think with a little different designs this downside could be avoided.

Hope this helps or at least gets you started.
