I have a L3000 with a turn buckle style adjustable lift arm, which means getting off the tractor to adjust it. The old Ford 9N had a crank that you could adjust from the seat. I asked the dealer if a crank was available but it is not. Does anyone know where I can get one?

It's been 15 1/2 hours and no replies. I'm disappointed, and surprised.

I've got an L4400 with the same turnbuckle lift arm on the right side. It is a pain in the butt to adjust.

Depending on length, the crank type off a Ford might work. You might have to fabricate the ends to fit for length and pin size but it might work. I have an 1953 NAA, I'll have to look at it to see if it might work.

If no one can tell me what might work from a different model or brand, my back up plan is to go to the tractor junk yard and find something that can be made to work. The one from the 9N is longer and should be able to be cut down to fit.

That was a good question EddieL and a great idea for someone to manufacture.

I agree. I recently traded in my 30 year old JD 850 for a new Kubota. The JD had the hand crank and I was a bit stunned when looking at new tractors (JD, Kubota, and Kioti/Bobcat) and they all had that painful, inconvenient turnbuckle style arm. I had assumed that time brought progress and better products, but in this case it went backwards. I asked the JD dealer what happened and he just shrugged his shoulders and said this was the new standard.

Retrofitting or a home-business of fabricating is a good idea.

I have one set of rear remotes I had the dealer add at the time of purchase. I'm seriously considering going with a hydraulic tilt cylinder. Trying to use the turnbuckle with my box blade requires taking the load off it, adjust, move the 3pt hitch, adjust, etc. until I have it where I want it. Hyd tilt will definitely take care of that issue.

Measure the length etc. on the turn buckle and take a couple of pictures. The go to your Kubota dealer's lot an start measuring and comparing ends. I bet you will find one that would fit and be bought from the parts dept..

Honestly, I never mess with mine much. About the only time I use it is if I am hooking up and implement that is on un-even ground. But then I am already off the tractor. I have no need to constantly be adjusting it while in use. If you really need to be adjusting the tilt, like in doing a lot of grading with a blade, the hydraulic tilt link is the way to go if you have remotes.

I have a hydraulic tilt cylinder. I love it and use it all the time now that I have it. You can put a perfect crown or slope on a gravel drive with your box blade for instance. I used my spreader yesterday for ice melt and angled it up to hit some stairs. (Fantastic!) One of the best things I've ever done was a hydraulic "top and tilt." Never get out of the tractor to adjust.
