G'day everyone. When i change gear it always grates. The book say i adjust the gap between the clutch lever and the clutch bearing as seen thro' the little inspection hatch on the side of the engine. I've tried adjusting the clutch pedal rod long and short and it doesn't make any difference to the gap between the horseshoe lever and the protuberances on the side of the bearing housing against which the lever pushes. Is this the gap they mean 'cos it seems as this bearing is spring loaded there will never be a gap. Or is the gap [ 2.5 -3.0 mm ] further forward between the actual bearing race and the spinning clutch member. Why is car/ tractor mechanics so bloody double dutch to me?? And am I completely barking up the wrong tree anyway re. my grating gear changes. Any ideas would be bonzer. From down under Martin
