Ford 8N
Branson 4015R with 33 hours.

The three point lift lever is extremely stiff. This makes it difficult to feather the height adjustment on the box blade when smoothing driveways.

I'm used to the smooth 3 point quadrant on my ole ford. Would be nice if this operated the same.

Is there some adjustment for it?

There's a turtle --> rabbit knob under my 4105's seat, to the RH side for rate of up/down.

Is that what you're asking about?

Waggy, I think he's referring to the actual draft control lever.

I Googled "Branson 4015R" and watched a couple of videos. They seem pretty 'jerky' tractors in the hands of 'salespersons'.

Only 33 hrs old so it's likely to be stiff. Give it another 33 hours and he'll be asking how to fix leaks...

Hey, just joshing.. We have never heard of this brand down here.

Oh, OK. My draft control lever works smoothly and will hold an implement at height where I want it, so I was thinking the 'speed' knob may be a contributing factor.

Apparently we do have Branson tractors down here... but they're a "direct to your door" mob = no dealerships. A South Korean company: Home of Branson Tractors Australia

Goodness, You're right. We do have them too. Small third-level dealers... no idea how they appeared or when.

Basically it seems Cummins are the industry ****** - selling their engines to anyone who can blow-mold a bonnet. Some ute manufacturer comes to mind. (Ssang-Yong??)

This is exactly my problem. I'll check and see if there is a similar adjustment.

Thanks!

Good stuff and nice find cscollin! This is what TBN is all about, posting not only your problems but also the solutions.

skeeter102, I'd also recommend going around your new tractor with a spray-can of lubricant (I use a lanolin based product, here in Aus) and lightly spray anything mechanical that moves (but doesn't have its own grease nipple). It can't hurt, eh?

Yes. Good job cscollin.
More people should use the 'Search' function.
Could save a lot of repitition, especially with the ''Won't start" threads.

In 2003 I bought a used Kubota L35. All the linkage, pins and ball joints on the 3 point were quite worn. I kept lubricating it all the while I had it. I just sold it this year when I bought my Branson 3725 and the 3 pt was almost to the point where it needed a complete rebuild. Part of the reason I sold it.

If you take a look at your new tractor as I did mine, you will notice every moving part of the 3 point is dry. It will take you about an hour but I recommend you take it apart one arm at a time and rub grease on and into every pin, arm, ball joint, linkage, anything that moves. Wagtail is right on.
