Hello all!

Hope this is the right section.

I am looking for advice on size of snow blower, and rough cut mower my 169D can handle.

Also looking for a Front End Loader kit. If mods are required to make a good kit fit, I have access to the tools/people necessary.

Loader would be used for general landscaping on my new acreage, and I am thinking about making a nice dugout for a swimming hole.

Starting from scratch. I was basically gifted the tractor by my Father inlaw, and it is in almost brand new shape. I think less than 200 hours.

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: Coldwater Tractor will be the least expensive new loader and likely used loader you will find. Your 169 would handle a 4' rotary mower. Don't know anything about snow blowers. You have about 13pto hp to work with.

Coldwaters web sight is gone but pretty sure he is still in business and can be reached by phone. http://www.manta.com/c/mm8vygb/coldwater-tractors-inc

Looking at the attached specs, Winston is right on about the Hp for the PTO.

Thus, a 4-foot finish mower or the smaller bush hog would be the limits for the little tractor. The benefit the 169D has is the 3-cly engine. It should be smoother running and provide a bit more torque compared to the smaller Yanmars with 2-cly.

With only 200hrs on the clock, that machine is still in the fresh breaking-in period. Nice.

As for a snow-blower or thrower, that is hard to tell. The machine has a rear PTO. I've had luck with a regular straight blade that can be manually pivoted to push or drag the snow. You would need to be out there before the snow gets over 5-inches though. A regular straight blade down here runs under $200. A snow attachment would be like adding an extra -0- to the price if it fits up. A rear attachment is possible too. BUT, with 13Hp on the PTO, any slight wetness will bog the engine down to stall.

About a loader, it's doable. My neighbor has a John Deere 650 (aka Yanmar). It has a loader, but the 650 is a 2-cly and takes a long moment to lift anything in that bucket.

Awesome, thanks guys.

The snow is typically pretty dry here. When it's snowing it is typically below -10 C.

The tractor is coming with a finishing mower and a rototiller. Both are 4 footers. (Sorry I didn't mention this before) It sounds like like that is the max of any of the implements to look for.

I would be looking at a rear blower, planning on about a 500' lane.

The loader I wouldn't be in a hurry, I think. Looking at using it to transplant trees, and digging out a swimming pond.

I am building on open old pasture land, so I wouldn't want to wreck the finishing mower clearing it out.

Just throwing my 2 cents in here on the rear pto snow blower. One of the issues you have to plan for is the width of the blower. Obviously the wider, the more snow it takes and more hp. 13 is not a lot to move a lot of dry snow let alone wet. My tractor is 60 inches wide and have 20 hp at the pto. I would expect to have to go very slow with some of the march wet snow we get here in New England. Just something to keep in mind. Btw, I use a back blade and a the fel bucket
