So, I have to prime and paint six wooden screen doors for the in laws' house.

If I was paining with a brush, I would paint one side, let it dry and then paint the other. Usually, I would do 2-3 coats.

If I spray, I would want to avoid this as I would spend more time cleaning the sprayer than painting.

Any advice to simplify the process? I looked on line and saw that one guy stood them up in a zig zag pattern, so he could spray both sides at once (he used a brush on the top and bottom).

Put a screw in the top and bottom and then you can set them up horizontally with the screws resting on boards on sawhorses or the like, and spin/flip them as needed. Or hang from wire and do the same. Lots of ways to hold stuff up to get to both sides, depending on the space and stuff you have on hand.

Ditto Dave's suggestion, I use finishing nails driven in a few inches top and bottom and use them to support door, in this case rest in on the ground on a piece of scrap and tie the top to a line. I'd suggest brushing the first coat as well as spraying, you get better adhesion with brushing. A mistake I made painting a door once was doing one side then letting it sit about a week before I did the second side. The humidity changed a lot and it really warped the door because one side could absorb moisture and the other side couldn't. Finally had to replace the door because my wife wasn't strong enough to get it to latch.

I just did two of them. In the sun and summer heat, the primer will dry quite quickly. Paint takes a bit longer, but not much. I did one side of each and by the time I was done, I could turn the first one over and spray the other side. With six doors, you should have no problem. Also, I throw my sprayer in a plastic bag and it's fine even after sitting a few hours with latex paint.
