I know this is kinda of cheesy, but I am asking about a kids wagon, but in defense, I plan to hook it to the tractor for SLOW rides out to the mailbox occasionally.

Now to the question. Has anyone bought one of these from Northern Tool:
Northern Tool Wagon

At $50 it seems like a good deal, especially when the Radio Flier model is $140 and the others go up from there.

Anyone have it? If so how do you like it?

It is only 15 1/2" wide and would be prone to tip over.

Your kids are worth more than $50, spring for one of those metal garden carts they sell at Lowe's and other places. Make sure it is at least 24" wide. Much less prone to rolling over.

I paid $135 for the wagon I pull our dogs around in. Bought it at First Monday Trade Days in Canton, TX. We use it when we go to Canton. Darg those darn dogs for miles so I wanted something good. If those 3 mutts can't turn it over nothing can!

First Monday ?

Is that like a swap/trade
Maybe a big lot of just things people wanna sell ?

I've heard of First Saturday for computer stuff,,, maybe the same thing ?

That sound like a fun way to kill an afternoon,, If Canton is not to far away... Do they have these other places as well.

Thanks

First Monday Trade Days-Canton, Texas and another site another Canton Trade Days site See a list of vendors

Held the Thursday through Sunday of the weekend before the first monday of each month (have I confused you yet?) in Canton, Texas.

We go on Wednesday afternoon, that's when they open the non-reserved RV parking spaces (2:00) and stay until Sunday morning. They have 600 RV spaces on the grounds and they fill up during the busy months. Plenty of RV space at January market.

They claim it is the world's largest flea market. There are around 3,000 vendors there. If you can't find it at Canton you don't need it.

We always find some real bargains there and lots of really good deals.

The largest market is in November and December.

We have been the last 2 New Year's weekends and the weather has been nice. We usually go in the Spring too, but Summer is too brutal to be there.

Market Dates

If you enjoy fleas markets you will love Canton. It will take you at least 2 days to see it all if you keep moving, longer if you really browse. "There are more than ten miles of trails through the Canton First Monday Trade Days grounds".

BTW, the sites above just show the "official" areas, there are a couple of other sections about 4 blocks up the road that have hundreds of vendors in them.

I bought the same one a few years ago for my son. It was $50 quality. It was soon over worked and in pieces. It's good enough for kids to play with around the yard, but I would not let the kids ride in it behind a tractor.

First Monday trade days in Canton used to be just that; first Monday - one day only. I was there a couple of days on business in 1967 and they told me, at one time there was an ordinance prohibiting selling anything on Sundays, but by 1967, they allowed people to set up their "stalls", etc. Sunday morning, but it was illegal to sell anything until after noon on Sunday, and then it gradually expanded to what it is today.

From what I have heard it started in the 1850's. The Circuit Judge would hold court in Canton on the first Monday of each month. Farmers would bring some of their produce or livestock to Canton when they had to be in town for court business and trade with other farmers.

Over the years it has gotten bigger and bigger. First time I was there was probably 1976 or so. Had hundreds of vendors then and no covered stalls. Now there are thousands of vendors, lots of permanent covered stalls (metal buildings open on the sides).

One thing that has made it successful is the vendors with reserved spaces are required to show up 12 months a year or they lose their reserved space. There is lots of new stuff and arts, crafts, clothes, in the covered stalls as well as guns, knives, antiques, jewelry, etc.

There are probably 4 to 6 people selling wagons like this thread started talking about. The Amish made wagons are the most expensive but very well made.

One thing we do is spend the first day or 2 looking around before we buy anything because we may find somebody selling the same or better items for less money.

I prefer the unreserved area. There is all sorts of 'junk' there.

If you can't find it at Canton you don't need it!
