Hello all...
Thank you in advance for taking the time to chime in with answers to my question. I am looking to move to the ZTR zone and getting rid of my newer Cub riding mower. I have been researching different makes models, residential / commercial, specs, and the like. Since I rarely every want anything "purely residential", I decided to look for a used semi-commerical type unit. I had settled on looking for a used ExMark Radius-E, Gravely HD, and a Simplicity/Ferris.
Low and behold, I think what appears to be a very good deal. A 1-2 year old Ferris IS700Z 52" with about 100 hours on it for $3500. Sounds to me like a solid deal based on the low hours, 3400 trannies, etc. It has had its oil changed, but no hydro change yet - required at 100 hours according to manual.
So here is my question - outside of going there to visually expect that it looks "as new" runs and cuts, what should i be inspecting with a keen eye? Ferris warranties are non-transferrable so I want to make sure I get this purchase right.
Thank you!
Michael
