The 'awesome' manual (CK2610hst) fails to prominently mention that there's a manual primer pump atop the fuel filter that should be pumped, preferably with the thumbscrew (just below it) removed. Sure does help after a fuel filter change where all kinds of air gets into the system. :banghead: Good thing we have TBN to overcome the lack of vital information. See pic..

I have always filled the bowl before reinstalling.....keeps air out of system

I always prime the filter, by filling the filter full with diesel, before rotating and tightening the filter into position. This way nothing else needs to be done....and I have not allowed air into the fuel system.

I have found the primer pump pretty poor on my NX. Pumped at least 100 times with no fuel coming out. I fill the filter with fuel then put it on. That way it fires up right away.
