After Market OBD2 Guage ?

Anyone try an aftermarket OBD2 guage on their late model Kioti to monitor other functions, or to maybe have an alarm for when water temp gets higher than usual? There’s a few on Amazon, cheap Chinese guages, I’ll admit. I’ve had Scan gauge in the past and worked well, just wanted something a little bigger with more functions. Maybe someone has tried a scan guage or the Bluetooth ones that connect to the OBD2 port and connect to a phone via an app like Torq??

Also I’ve almost had the tractor over heat on me when brush hogging due to the seeds that clog the radiator pre filter..I was thinking if there was a way to set an alarm to notify me when temp got to a certain level. Back in the day there were Murphy gauges which would actually shutoff the engine at a set temp..

Is Kioti using an OBD2 interface now? Its standard in the auto industry but most equipment manufacturers use proprietary connections/software.

It was my understanding that every type of vehicle past 2005 that uses ODB, conforms to the ODB2 standard. A lot of parameters are the same across the board but a lot are also vehicle manufacturer specific, don’t quote me on that though..and I’m pretty sure my 2018 CK4010 has the ODB connection underneath the steering wheel.

A tractor is not a "vehicle" and does not to conform to the same regulations as one.

The OBD2 is only an automotive standard and was implemented mainly for the standardization for monitoring emissions systems. The mandatory switchover year was 1996, although you'll occasionally see a 95 or even a 94 model year with the connector (only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Fords with a DI Powerstroke).

Even if your tractor has an OBD2 port on it, which it appears Kioti does use on some models, I doubt it'll be able to communicate with a generic scanner as they don't appear use P0 codes.

I plugged my scan tool into the OBD2 port on my tractor and it wouldn't communicate. Must have a different pinout or protocol.

I've tried a few OBD2 devices but other than turning off the light never satisfactorily provided a diagnosis.
On a Toyota it kept saying OXY sensors, dealer replaced with a set, still detected O2 sensor so he replaced with factory original and still lit the the light.
(and he has that $$ Ob2 kit)
Thankfully it was all under used car warranty so no $$'s to me.

I DIY fixed it!
Was a simple as brake cleaner on the sensor filaments! (love internet user groups)
