After market vs OEM Truck Parts

Well thanks for the advice. Tomorrow, I drop the truck off at the shop that uses Carquest parts. We'll see how much it runs. I checked on line for Toyota OEM parts - the front converter was about $950, and the rear was about $850. I am hoping the shop can do much better.

Just a wrap up. Both front and rear converters needed to be replaced. My guy put in Carquest converters and cost was just under $800 with labor. Dealer using OEM would have been about $2000.

Quite the savings.

It is not unusual for the oxygen sensors to get wasted with the converters. especially the one(s) in front of the converter.

If your not replacing the oxygen sensor(s), a check engine light in the near future with a code pertaining to converter performance, the oxygen sensor(s) will likely be the cause.

There is usually a root cause of converter failure, like cylinder misfires, that also needs to be addressed, if you have not already.
