Kioti ck2610
So we bought a kioti ck2610 a few years ago new after maybe a couple hundred hours it developed a very annoying problem.

It would randomly just die like it was starving for fuel.

Of course the first culprit was the fuel filter, then checking the tank for obstructions in the tank... example the big bug i got out of the tank after draining and removing the fuel tank... I was positive I had found the problem.. wah-wa wa... nope still dies.. so I checked the lift pump... was working very well.. so I figured the fuel line must be collapsing nope.... everytime it would die one thing always happened... the primer pump on top of the fuel filter housing would be sucked down under a vacuum.. so i completely removed the housing cleaned and blew out everything I could take apart... new filter again. The tractor stalled as soon as I used it under a heavy load almost immediately...

At this point I'm pretty fed up... so I did something I'd usually never recommend.

I used a cheap inline fuel filter and bypassed the factory fuel filter housing.. walla... the tractor ran like new full power no stalling no matter how much load i put on it.

The problem is obviously in the top of the fuel filter housing in the primer pump assembly... note this part can not be disabled without destroying the housing.

I have since replace the filter housing and couldn't be happier with my tractor again...
I'm currently at about 950hrs of use.

Hmmm..

If fueling were the issue. How would the engine restart?

I had a similar issue with my Hurlimann. It was the fuel cut off controller.
A $250 black box that was little more than a timer. It's gone now, replaced by a 3 foot length of welding filler rod attached to the injector pump fuel shut off lever.

After it would sit a few seconds the vacuum created in the fuel filter housing would be released and the tractor would restart. I'm going to cut the top off the housing and see what I find inside... I'm positive I'm gonna find junk inside the primer pump assembly. Causing the restriction.

Note I now have used the tractor for atleast 50hrs without any problems what so ever after replacing the filter housing with a aftermarket filter... I'll add a picture at a later time.

I'm the same way about mechanical injected diesels I prefer a manual shut down to a electric one myself. All my older tractors have mechanical shut offs and even my 1990 dodge truck with a cummins has a mechanical shut down now... I gutted the inside of the electric shut off as it started randomly shutting off as well.

Congratulations, that had to be frustrating to deal with! Thanks for sharing.

Very..

The ran pretty good most of the time until it would just randomly die.. I had found if I kept the rpm down in the "eco" range it didn't die as often.. (using less fuel)

It was such a hassle I had read hour of similar threads on this and other tractor forums. So when I figured out the problem I joined this forum just to share with other incase they have the same problem.

And we thank you for sharing. Definitely a frustrating problem, I shall try to remember to look for it if I suffer similar problems.

Random dieing - that brought back a memory. I had an IH 560 that would die but I knew exactly what was causing it to shut down. I can't remember why but I was on the hood with a Mini Mag Light looking into the tank. I was adjusting the flashlight and the head dropped into the tank. Dang it. Got a wire and fished the head out but the reflector and the lense were still in there. I fished the reflector up and out but I couldn't see the lens. Oh well, whatever. But from that time on the unit would die from no fuel. The lens would get over the fuel outlet and get sucked down blocking the fuel. I never did get the lense out. And to add insult to injury it woulds always happen at the worst possible time.
