I have a JD2520 and am considering the woods backhoe...would this be a wise decision or should I just stay with the OEM?
What HP rating is your 2520? I understand a Woods is a decent BH. One thing I don't like about mine is one of the cylinders is inside the tube on the lower end of the BH making it difficult to service.
You should ask the sales rep what is the break out rating of the hoe with your hydraulic pressure on the 2520. For example my hoe is a little poor on the tractor as pressures are around 2500 and GPM is 8-9 not a speed demon. Now put my little hoe on the hydraulic frame with 3500 psi, and 25GPM and wow what a difference.
I just wanted my hoe for a little trenching and such but once I got it I have found I use it a lot. So basically get the longest that your tractor can handle as you never have enough length
