2010 Case Farmall 45 HST
I have a 2010 Case Farmall 45 I'm needing to do some scheduled maintenace on this weekend. Do y'all have any experience with aftermarket filters? They are significantly cheaper from Oreilly's than the Case filter at the dealer. For example, my hydraulic filter, part # SBA340500920, is $23 at Oreilly's for a Wix or $63 at the dealer for OEM. I'm needing the hydraulic filter, HST filter, oil filter, and fuel filter. I can do the same job for about 60% of the cost going through Oreilly's and using Wix and Fram products.

Whoa that's steep!!! What dealer is this so I stay away? I know they want to charge a lot for the fuel filter just because of the drain screw. I drain it just to eliminate possibility of water. Plus there's the inline filter below the tank. I already have dual water filters plumbed on my fuel tanks and try to top off the tank after each use. So I eliminate that wasteful purchase. My OEM oil filter runs about $25. Hydraulic filter I can't remember but never $63. The dealer already buys this stuff in bulk.

I do know they have a special on spring tuneup. That really ain't much of a special because the oil is way overpriced. I found my CaseIH dealer uses O'Reillys antifreeze. I know because they sold a jug to the wife. I was mad, I told her the next time a place sells another brand, don't buy. (She thought she was doing right thing since I asked her to find out the coolant specs) They also use an off brand hydraulic oil as well.

As long as you buy a quality after market filter you'll be fine. They run in cars fine, tractors will be fine. I don't buy oil from the dealer. I run Rotella motor oil and Travelers hydraulic oil.

That price was the same from my two closest dealers.

I completely understand. Some parts I just look at and shake my head. How a shear bolt and nut costs me a dollar and a set bolt for a NH 488 pto drive line is $19. I used to be a machinist before I started farming full time and was just absolutely disgusted. I was in middle of down time when I needed it so naturally I had to cough it up.

Anyway you will be fine using Fram or Wix filters. I don't know if your fuel filter is the same as my 65a but I never change it. essentially I have 4 filters. I run the OEM oil filters on the 65a. My other tractors have either Fram or Wix. Don't blame you for saving the pennies.
