I have a 2810 Ford and the injection pump isn't working. I took the top off but can't get the metering valve unstuck. A reputable diesel service said to rebuild it would cost from $700 to $1,200. I can buy a new aftermarket pump for about $600.00. I'm fairly certain that it is a Chinese copy. Does anybody have any experience with these aftermarket pumps?

Thanks,
Danny

Is there a name brand associated with it or no-name? No-names seem to have lower quality, but made in China to a name brand specification is unfortunately the way of the world. Those seem to be okay.

I can't find a name but the pics show a tag on it.

I just found a site for D&C Diesel in Falmouth that rebuilds pumps for what seems to be a good price. I'm going to start a new thread to see if anybody knows anything about them.

I had a older 4000 that I tried to get the pump rebuilt and found the same prices here in WA. The tractor still ran, so, I sold it. Just getting harder and harder to justify owning a "diesel". bjr

I contacted the seller of the aftermarket pump and he said that it was made in Romania. He said that he has sold 100s of them and they do well and come with a 1 year warranty.

I decided to have my pump rebuilt at D&C Diesel. I found 2 posts that said that he comes highly recommended. He has a small shop in the back of his house. It'll cost quite a bit less to have it rebuilt than buy the aftermarket pump and I know I'll have a well made pump.

Thanks for the replies and I'll get back and post on how it does.
