I don't know if this belongs here, but I couldn't find anywhere else toput it that is likely to be read by a lot of folks.

While continuing my search for the perfect replacement for my B7100, I've found myself being swayed by suspension seats. Several cheaper tractors that would otherwise be high on my list do not offer one. I don't mean a seat with a couple of springs or rubber bumpers under the back edge, but a whole seat that moves up and down without changing angles or the relationship between the bottom and the back, such as found on a DX33 Case.

Are there any aftermarket seats that can fit most any tractor and still allow a guy to adjust the stiffness of the spring action, back and forth position, etc? If so, could someone post a link or something? There seem to be a lot of us using this site who have back problems which such a seat would go a long way to help alleviate.

Thanks. Those all appear to be replacements for the stock seat, at least on my 'bota. I'm looking for a source for suspension seats to upgrade a basic tractor to a more comfortable seat.

Ooe of my 8Ns had a simple leaf spring mounted seat, the second one had a scissors action mechanism with a big coil under it. I found the first one far easier to live with. My 'bota just sits on two rubber shock absorber mount bushings and basically has no spring action to it.

I had considered a suspension seat for an older tractor I have. The mounting height for the seat is fixed by the top of the transmission/hydraulics. Adding suspension would increase the height of the seat surface beyond the reaches of comfortable operation so I gave up on the idea.

I don't suppose that you might have searched for a swivel for your CK30 seat, have you? I'd be interested in one myself. Might make snowblowing this winter a bit easier.

Nope.....but that's a great idea. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Check out the swivel mechinism page at tractor seats.com.

I remember reading recently here on TBN somebody used the swivel off an old boat seat and adapted it to his tractor seat. I believe it was a New Holland. Maybe someone could track down the thread for us.

I was able to replace the base my seat sat on with one of the suspension bases they offer, with little or no height difference.

I bought a replacement suspension seat for my JD 950 from valubilt.com . It was almost identical to my old seat. I had to stretch a couple of mounting holes a little. It has a knob on the back to adjust the suspension tension. The seat rides up and down on the suspension, not rock back and forth. It also slides front to back for leg room adjustment. Just type seat in the search box and it will come up with 25 pages of complete seats and seat components.

Anybody ever used an air suspension seat? Any idea as to how they work/what the big deal about them is?
