I saw som discussion about traction/tire options on this forum, but has anyone tried to fit either ag type tires or other tires to achieve more traction?
I use my toolcat mostly on the pasture and stay stuck a lot. On slopes when mowing with th 90" mower, unless the grass is dry, the ind tires slide down hill .

The standard toolcat tire is 27 x 10.5-15. The next larger available tire is a 29 x 10.5 -15 skid steer type tire. Both are 8 ply. The turf toolcat tire is 29 x 12.5-15. 6 ply.
Galaxy makes a galaxy super trencher tire that has a R1 type profile, sizes 29 x 12.5-15 and a 31 x 15.5-15. Both 8 ply. The 29" should fit without out significant issues. The 31" may be too wide/tall. I think the galaxy tire would be great on a toolcat. If I buy one, I would be real tempted to try the galaxy. You can go to casece.com to see the galaxy tires or search for galaxy tire.

Thanks. If I understand trencher type tires, They look to be like atv tires. Do the have a softer sidewall, and if so, it would seem like they would grop better and maybe even ride a little better. I may try some.

They don't look like atv tires. They have a lug pattern more like a R1 tractor tire but tread is typically 3/4"-1" deep. The profile is wide and flat and not rounded like an atv tire. They should give good flotation. I don't know how soft the side wall is, but they can't be any stiffer than skid steer tires. On trenchers, the side walls seem to bulge slightly and suggest a softer sidewall. I never see the side walls flex or bulge on a skid steer. Still plenty tough for the the toolcat and probably superior traction.
When the 3 point toolcat becomes available, I will probably try to swap out the regular tires to these trencher tires. I can't stand skid steer tires in the mud or soft ground.
