AGRITEC AT20 Rotary tiller Manufactured 2009
I purchased this 68 tiller new from Tractor Pros WV which came from their supplier Southern Farm Supply. Southern Farm Supply doesn稚 list this tiller on there website that I can find. All the new models start with AT30.
This tiller is to complement my Mahindra 3535 tractor. I am a pheasant farmer and I have been using a Woods 哲 Water PlotMaster for the lasts 9 years on established food plots.
The problem that I am having with the AT20 is that it is eating up the PTO shafts. The tiller came with a Tractor Supply PTO without a slip clutch or a shear bolt, so it was a direct drive with the two 填 joints, one on either end. This shaft twisted off when the tiller met up with buried cattle wire. I cleared the cattle wire from the tiller, no damage noticed and fixed the PTO shaft.
I received the proper PTO shaft that is an Agritec shaft, with a shear bolt, that is in metric and is an 8.8 rated shear bolt. Well after replacing the new shaft I got maybe an hrs worth of tilling on medium clay with some shale, nothing big, and I stress the fact that this is an already established food plot, and the shear bolt goes.
I now have the old Tractor Supply PTO direct drive shaft, and I put this one on. I get into about 30 minutes and the 填? joint snaps at the tractors PTO.
When the tiller was delivered the mechanic installed the unit on the tractor and is off set to one side more then the other. Does this have any effect since the PTO shaft is not in a straight line? Both PTO shafts were to long and had to be cut, do these shafts after being cut have to be balanced?
I am at wits end..
