I've been looking for an original replacement filter for my TS1610 and could not find one locally and am not about to spend the $65 I've seen quoted on the web.
I was inspired by a post by svcguy where he replaced his breather with a VW outfit and it looked good. Whilst looking for a filter I found a Fram CAK530 that had all the specs and measurements as my original but was about 2 inches shorter. However, it is readily available and best of all is only $8.55 and is also made by other manufactures, used by other tractors and should be around for a long time. So, I took a good look at my filter housing and filter and fabricated an adapter on my lathe that allows me to use the shorter filters with my factory breather housing. So now I have cheap readily available filters with the same 100CFM rating as the original OEM filters haven't changed anything on my tractor and I will save about $480+ over my next 8 filter changes. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
