I put a cab on my BX2200, the inexpensive kind, and when you blow snow the reverse rad. fan sucks the semi-warm air out of the cab-which means it is replaced by cold outside air.
I know that I am lucky to at least have a cab, but I have lung problems, and the cold doesn't help me in any way whatsoever. Just wondering if any one out there had come up with a brain storm to help cut down on this air loss???
A quick note to the fella with the different oil filter from the one that came with the tractor, mine was the same, original was grey, dealer filter was white.
Thanks for any help!
Ralph

Was just reading your post... Thanks for your note about the filter! God, I had never thought about the cab issue versus the reverse radiator! That's an interesting one! I'm sure someone here will come up with an idea for you!

maybe you could make some type of shroud that will cover the air intake side leaving space for it to pull air in from the outside of the cab. a quick sheet metal fabrication with a foam gasket with adhesive strip on one side stuck to sheet metal to seal it would do the trick, you could probably use velcro to hold it in place no drilling. then remove it for the summer.

You would have to watch the temps but I bet you could pull the screen in front of the radiator and then block over the screen below the steering the wheel--the one you are complaining about. I bet in very cold weather the BX will do fine without full flow over the radiator. It will still pull air from the engine compartment around behind the radiator and back through it. J

I have the curtis model of cab with a heater. The unit comes with a canvas cover that goes on the inside shroud. You then take the floor plate that is under the battery, so it can get air from the bottom. Works like a charm. The cover is held on with velcro so it is easy to convert back in the summer.

Hello,
To Ray, thank you very much! I didn't know the floor pan under the battery was removable, I'm gonna check it out right now! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I also have the Curtis Cab on my BX2200. There is also a heater available for the Cab. It is on the expensive side through Curtis. I have seen the same heater in the JC Whitney catalog and in the Mill Supply catalog. You have to plumb it into the cooling system. It is about a 7 inch cube and has a two speed blower with it. I believe that it is around $120.00 I don't have one myself yet but am working on it.
