I want to put a pre cleaner on my TD95D and am looking for advice on how.
The air filter is in the worst place possible on this tractor. Up front and low as possible. We live in West Texas and just about any time I am using to plow, disc or plant it it's so dusty that I can barely see and go through a whole bottle of windshield washer fluid before I'm done. It usually goes through 2-3 air filters at least every year.
What I am thinking about is some sort of centrifugal pre cleaner and mounting it on the top of the cab at the right front corner. I never go out that door anyway since the shifters, EZguide 500, steering system, moisture meter and all the wiring is in the way. If I mount it to the grab rail on top I can plumb with 2 1/2 in exhaust pipe to the air cleaner inlet and connect to the 2 inch inlet with a rubber boot I have from a powerstroke intake.
Does this sound like a good idea or a waste of time? Does anyone think that long run of pipe would restrict air flow enough to harm anything? I'm really looking for ways to make my air filter and my engine last as long as possible.
