Anyone have an idea for an air tool holder. I have air tools in bottom drawers of my roll arounds. Tired of having to go through a pile of tools to get to the correct one. Thinking of some type of holder to mount to the end of a workbench or to the wall. Maybe even a holder for a roll around cart in the shop. It would be nice to walk up to the holder and immediately see the tool you need. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JRF

You could mount female quick couplers to your workbench and then just snap the tools into and out of them. (Like what they do at some Sears/TSC stores except without the security cables /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Might be kind of expensive if you have a lot of air tools though!

Mount a peice of flat stock or angle iron on your bench or cart and drill 1/2" holes in it about every 4 inches. Just put the air fitting into the hole and most air tools are balanced enough at that point to stand up and be ready to go to work when needed. You can buy ready made air tool holders from tool trucks just like that or you can make them yourself pretty cheap and easy.

What Jason suggested also has the advantage of keeping dirt out of the air intake. But as he said; expensive. You might also consider short pieces of pipe or PVC mounted somewhere that you just stick the male coupler on the tools into. Or even just drill holes into the top of a workbench to stick them into.

Just go to or order from Harbor Frieght their cheap ($0.25 or $0.50 cant remember which) air couplers, not the greatest for air lines, but perfect for an air tool rack. I would also suggest mounting it in an area with little to no traffic, would not be fun removing a broken of male coupler from your air tool.
