While talking about air compressors I told Mr. Byrd I would post a pic of my air tool collection. These are not all, actually not even close, but these are my most used and favorites.
Among them are two Sioux drills, a Pan American 90/45 degree angle drill, three Chicago Pneumatic rivet guns (2XX and 3XXX), one Blue Point drill, a generic rivet squeezer, mini high speed and my new Sears impact gun replacing the one that essentially exploded the other day. Oh, and my favorite Binks 2001. Just for you to see since I know you are an air tool man. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif J

Nice collection! And they all look well cared for too. No pop rivet puller?

Nice collection, JR. And of course, as an aircraft worker, you have some things there I know nothing about. I never worked on any rivet tools (or nail guns, for that matter) at all, and I don't guess I've even seen or know what a Binks is. How'd you decide on the particular different brands? Apparently you're not stuck on one brand, as some people are, whether you're talking about air tools, tractors, or cars. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

For those who don't know, Blue Point is a Snap-On brand. I used to have a little Blue Point reciprocating saw; very handy tool. But then my brother took a broken Ingersoll-Rand saw in trade and I fixed it up good as new. But instead of putting the IR on the truck to sell, I kept it for my own use and let him put the Blue Point on the truck to sell. Now, in my opinion, neither of those saws is better than the other, but the Blue Point would sell easier and for more money simply because of that name. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The Blue Point I did get off a Snapon truck. It is still my favorite 3/8 inch air drill. Good trigger, good power and speed.
The Siuox drills are 3/8 and 1/4. The 1/4 is a very high speed, very small and is the one given me by a former employer when I moved away. The Binks is the spray gun on end. They are like Sharpe, DeVillbis--a well known spray gun brand. I bought it in 1983 to repaint a VW van I rebuilt and converted into a beach buggy van. The angle drill is Pan American, high speed, uses threaded bits and has interchangeable heads. CP rivet guns are the most common brand I have come across and they also work better than anything else--'cept maybe the Sioux. The mini high speed (20,000 plus RPM) is a ball bearing unit. They sell the exact one on the Snapon truck but I have forgotten where and what brand it is, I just know I like it and would not trade it for anything.

Strange thing talking about high speeds. In Phoenix that is what they are called--high speeds and the straight ones are preferred over the 90 degree units. Here in Kansaw, the larger 90 degree units are prefered and regardless of brand are called Dotcos. Weird huh? J
