Does anyone have experience with a sub soiler? How well does it work even with wheel weights?

Hi! Some years ago I make one and try it. For first 8 in. no problem but for more. Hardpan is very hard to penetrate need lot of weight then wheels spins. Too hard.
A neighbour farmer use a John Deere 130 hp four wheels drive over 5 tons for pull four narrow chisels about 18-24 in. deep or about 30 hp and near 1.5 ton by chisel.

I'm not particularly thrilled with the Aldo Biagioli potato digger I have (hard to keep straight, and cuts too many potatoes), so I am not even considering their other plows, subsoilers, harrows, and ridgers. However, since I have the 'tool carrier' part from the potato plow, I am considering a bed shaper and perhaps one of the cultivator tool bars with some chisels, sweeps and gauge wheels. Does anyone use these? Any comments on their utility would be welcome.
