Thought I was going to get to play in the snow like you folks up in the colder northern clime's but all it did was coat the roof tops with a pretty white blanket. Oh well, the day was still nice so I continued on my unrelenting quest to clean out my fence rows. Worked about 100' on one side and about 100' on the other. Got some burning firewood and alot of debris to deposit on the burn pile.
The BH is invaluable as another strong hand/back in cutting up trees/branches. It's ain't no grapple but does a pretty good job in collecting up and transporting the debris to the burn pile too. Funny, I've been useing the BH more for other uses than for digging lately and a thumb makes it even handier.
Thought Id post a few pics of my all-to-short sojourn from the cabin fever :D
btw, the frozen pond pictured was dug out by the BX23 but don't tell anybody 'cause everybody knows a little BX23 can't do such things :D

I agree with you!! I got out on my tractor today and picked up loads of brush in a 25F blowing snow with my new grapple! Very cold but sure beats sitting in the house watching television! Sorry, no pics of the grapple in action. . . .yet.

Some people just have all the luck and all the fun. I pushed snow today for the 3rd time this week. It was warm enough that the packed stuff started to come loose, so I continued to remove it. If not, then I have ice patches instead. I am tired of winter and can't wait till spring...

Now I gotta find me a grapple, I got tons of grubbing to do here! :D

The pond is frozen but the grass is green???

LOL We only got 4" of snow all winter here, but the -40c it's been for the last 3 weeks sure reminded me that it was winter. Finally warming up to the +2c or so here this week (over 32f :) )

Seat time? I wish :(

Volf...

don't be pulling our legs again, everybody knows the Kubota's can't do that kinda digging. Our BH's are only good for turning over garden soil, it's true everybody says so!!! You got that done with an Hitachi ZX160 excavator right...come on now...fess up.... :D

I agree, a little seat time sure does feel good this time of year. I spent about four hours today bushhogging trails, an old orchard, and a section of an old field on a new piece of property that I manage in exchange for fire wood and hunting access. This is 80 of the most beautiful acres in Little Rhody with a view that extends nearly half way across the state! It does wonders in the way of relieving stress and clearing the mind. In fact, I think my health insurance company should pay for my new B7100 because I am convinced I will remain healthier due to the stress relief!

Last week's snowstorm gave our Kubota some extra work, and we're glad of it. In the past, our parking lot would shrink with each snowstorm as I plowed up snowbanks at each end, but now that we have the bucket I just plow everything to one end with the truck during the storm, and when the sun comes out so does the tractor to dig out and get rid of the snow. Pretty handy.

Hi:

I found a grapple on e-bay for $250 out of wash think shipping was 150 (kinda high) from thurston enginnering. Havn't got it mounted was trying to figure out bx-23 hyd off BH end and now I see the chain hooks/grabber bar that sombody made and thinking about combining 2. Think would have to modify this for bx anyway as not right angles on bucket top. Can try and find e-bay info if anybody interested have more kub tractor projects than daylite/time/health.
