Bought a used 5ft BoxBlade yesterday branded All American - it is red in color, medium duty could be 10+ years old and missing all of the scarifier teeth. The only thing I found on the net was one mention the brand might be have built in Augusta, GA. Got it for $250 so I am happy.

Anyone heard of this brand and how do I determine what replacement size rippers to buy? TIA

If it is just the teeth that are missing, maybe you could pull one of the scarifiers and take it to a TSC to try to match it up? How about taking a picture of one scarifier next to a yardstick (to show size), and send it to agri supply or Northern Tool to see if they can match it? You would probably need to take side and front pictures.

Check the LMC website to see if it is a rebadged LMC as they make implements in GA like box blades and sell to different distributors.

Thanks R3 it looks exactly like LMC standard BB. I sent them an email maybe they will fess-up.

Unfortunately Tom I am missing all the teeth so I have nothing to compare replacements with.

Going to TSC to see what I can see.

After measuring the blade, I found the 5ft blade is actually a 6ft blade hope my tractor will pull it or it will be up for sale.

Take a pick and measure the opening dimensions and depth and post it on here someone will have a match and you will be set. I bought a bunch of rippers from Agrisupply for a grapple that I was going to build but ended up swapping them out with the ones that came on my no name box blade. Agrisupply had the best price and I have used it for about 18 hours of aggressive ripping(rippers fully down and blade tilted forward) and they have held up well.

If you have to buy all those shanks, couldn't you have just about bought a new BB for the same price?

Shank opening is 2.5" by .75" with the height of box to the top of the ripper-mounting bracket is 11". Seems these dimensions are fairly standard Agri Supply sells these shanks for $11 each. 3/4" x 2-1/2" x 16."

Do I need longer ones? They also carry 17" shanks.

BoxBlade - $250, Rippers - $60 - Work Avoided Doing Research - Priceless!

I did a quick search and thought they were about $20 apiece but I know there are several different shanks. You probably will come out OK.

I have the same All American BB. Bought it used a couple of years ago, just started using it some. The lower rear of the square tube that the rippers mount through had been reinforced with a piece of angle iron. I may have to do the same on the top front of that square tube, one of the openings that the rippers go through is starting to deform. Probably from those roots I have been pulling out.

Did you ever find rippers to fit your blade??

beltzington, Don't know if you still are in need but Mr. Jim who makes the All American line is a friend of mine. Have bought several pieces from him and he makes them all in his shop. Not made and relabeled. If I can help please let me know. He has just started selling to the public. Try jtisnc@comcast.net
