With money being tight, like it is everywhere, I had to make do this fall with borrowing my neighbor's little Sears garden disk. Needless to say, it is what it is, and that ain't much!!! :D:D

Here's what I want for Christmas:King Kutter Incorporated

And here's a video of using the little toy disk. You can see why I want why all I want for Christmas is a disk.

I'm looking for a disk for my BX1850 too.

Can the BX1850/1860 handle a disk that large? It shows a shipping weight of 425 lbs.

Thanks,
Roger

be patient and search sale ads and papers. WE have Iwanna and iwanta around here. I found a used set of 12disk 16'' disk harrow for my yanmar. I was looking at a similar new linebach brand for around $540, i found this set with adjustable gangs out and for aggressiveness. Yes its used but still tight no slop yes about half the paint is gone but they sit out in the rain. I am glad i bought these and saved the $300 dollars, i think im going to buy a boom pole to load them on the trailer with the money i saved, so i dont have to turn them around by hand (have to do this so that tractor/bushog and disk all fit on the 16ft trailer at once.

Keep searching it took me a month or so of looking on and off and looking at every tractor place i passed. Not all deals are good, i saw some junk for $200, i also found a good 6ft set for $350 it was just too big for my yanmar with 16disks.

I say buy used and save these things last forever and are compleatly rebuilable for when they need to be. How much are you disking a used one will last forever for most people.

If interested you can see mine in my gallery.

clemsonfor,
I with you on the used disk, their all used after the first days work. All I have ever had needed onsite repairs ever so often. I agree and would save the money for something else.

I would love to find a used disk and have looked, to no avail, for almost 5 months. Up here, the smaller disks get snapped up by deer plot guys and they get passed around, word of mouth, I suppose. Very rare. I am also not sure what it is about disks that make the sellers so proud of them! :D:D

Anyway, finding just the right size for a subcut is also a restriction. A BX is limited to around 600 pounds lift at the 3 pt hitch. I would like to keep the weight closer to 400. A drawbar disk set would be OK, but it is limiting to have to make sweeping turns instead of picking it up and setting it down at row heads.

So, what do you want for Christmas? :) Implement wise?

Fred,
I am thinking a rock picker collection system with hydraulic dump, I need to be able to make small stones go away.

You know, I have had a couple of small 3 pt disks with light weight angle iron frames and all of them were troublesome. If you could find something with the box tubing you would be lots better off.

Sure, tube framing is superior to L framing any day. BUT... This is for a BX, remember and weight on these things becomes an issue quick. To drag pull it, not as much, to lift it, yes.

So, what implement do you want for Christmas?

i understand the weight issue restricts you to the super small disks but that KK looks big.

Also i live in the south (we hunt deer too, im a deerhunter also why i got mine) you are fighting every other hunter for all small disks as well as tractors.
