All-terrain wheelchair?

I vote for TANK CHAIR! That thing is Awesome!

It's been a few years ago, but a friend emailed me a picture of something like that but it did have a ROPS, and get this, along with hydraulic arms folded against the ROPS that could be used to right itself if it ever went over. It had to have cost a fortune, but the hydraulic arms on the ROPS could not only pus it back onto it's tracks, but could rotate and drag itself a bit.

Clearly useless for the house, even though it claimed to be able to climb steps, but would be great for strolling through most trails. I'd hate to think how much it weighed with all the batteries it must have had. Still, it was cool. I no longer have that email. If someone else got it when it went around, post the pics. Someone did some thinking when they made it.

This is going to sound like a strange reference, but try this link, disABILITIES! - The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com

The link is to a site all about Disney Land/World, Universal, Sea World, travel, etc. :D This link is to an discussion area regarding disabilities. The people who hang out there are VERY knowledgable about wheelchairs, scooters, ADA, etc. The people there are living in or with all kinds of "wheelchairs" and scooters.

Some of the members or their family have pretty severe disabilities. It sounds like you are getting good advice here on TBN but the link would give you a source for even more advice.

The people in that discussion area are really nice and know their stuff.

Later,
Dan
