Tractor
Kubota Grand L 5740, loaded R1's w/640 lbs cast weight, 854 loader
I called my dealer today.
I have a bit of a leakdown issue with my loader and I felt that perhaps the amount was was acceptable but this weekend, I was moving dirt from one place to another about 50 or 60 yards away.
I was having to re-curl the bucket at least twice on each trip. the bucket was un-curling enough that I was loosing dirt. I stopped the tractor and you could watch the bucket cylinders extend.
I decided that I would not accept that much of a leakdown. It's a pain in the butt.

Dealer said bring it in.
Tractor has less than 70 hours on it.

Cool!

Oops.
maybe this should have been in hydraulics...

Your problem seems generic enough to me to be here. I would not accept that rate of leakdown on any tractor. It sounds like you have a dealer who is going to support you well and fix this issue. I would suggest taking some timing and amount of leakdown numbers and record them. That way you have good data to state the extent of the problem and compare when your tractor gets fixed.

Yep, that sounds like too much. Mine does not leak down at all while running. Leaks down slowly while off, which is fine with me.

Well,
I delivered my tractor to the dealer on Saturday. The tractor ( and hydraulic fluid) was cold.
Lifted the front of the tractor with the loader and waited. It never moved.
Then, the mechanic lifted the bucket about 4 inches off the ground and he and I stood in the bucket.
It was on the ground in about 30 seconds.
He said, "that's not cool"
I called this morning, they are waiting on a part. Don't know what part but they said it will be ready for me to pick up tomorrow. :D

Warranty!!!!
Yeah Buddy!

Allen,

Sounds like you got a good dealer there to work with! Sounds like he is replacing the seals, and many of the dealers would probably claim the loader was misused thereby causing the seals to fail....... don't ask me how I know!!

Good Luck!

One bucket cylinder had an internal leak. They fixed it.
When they called me, the loader had been 4 ft off the ground for over 4 hours and had not moved any that they could measure.
Before it would have been on the floor in a hurry.

Now all I have to do is find time to go pick it up.

Used the tractor this weekend.
Out of previously established habits, I caught myself on several occasions, trying to re-curl the bucket.
It wasn't needed. The FEL is now solid as a rock.
I'm happy. I need to call my dealer and let him know. It's only right.
:D
