Well took the plunge today and bought the 7th AC in the family but the first for us. Bought this AC 5050 off a junk yard dealer (it was a lot like going to a very muddy version of Sandford and Son to see it and a lot like listening to the Tuetles off of American Chopper). Had to laugh because the son was throwing in a bunch of stuff I'm not sure the dad really wanted to including the paint job, but open mouth, deal is deal. Is the 5050 4WD full time, or can it be taken in and out? We paid $6200 for it. Not exactly sure what year it is, the first night I called about it,he told me 1991, today the son said 86, so who knows. He is going to clean it up, repaint it for us, fix all the loose wiring, replace a busted hydraulic hose, put on a canopy, throw in a 2 bottom plow, a pig poker, and a 2nd smaller bucket for the loader. He's putting 2 new batteries in it and replacing the front grill that was missing and transporting it for us (for fuel price). The rear tires look great the front weren't tractor tires, but truck tires. The brakes worked well. It says 1700 hrs, but I'll bet my bottom dollar one of those loose wires goes to the hour meter. It looked a bit rough and we were hestitant at first, but mechanically everything worked when put to the test and he said he will throw in a guarantee (30 days, Im sure). Does it sound like we got a decent deal? We have been looking for a 4WD tractor for a while, but the prices were pretty outrageous for anything in decent shape. Also, anyone have any advice on what to watch for with this one? Any info would be greatly appreciated. If anyone would like to see pics I can email them. Thanks again
