I finally bit the bullet and added quick attach capability to my Kubota L4610 FEL (model 852). The original bucket is a pin-on and I'm reluctant to go the usual route (cut off the tabs and weld on the QA plate). I'm thinking that a simple (non-invasive) way to convert the bucket might be to weld 2 pieces of 2.25" (0.25" wall) square stock to a standard QA plate so that each would line up to fit in the channel of the tabs where the pins currently attach the bucket to the loader arms. Obviously I'll need to drill holes in the square stock to allow me to reinstall the pins to attach the QA plate to the bucket.
I realize that I'll lose some lift capacity because the bucket will be moved forward a bit, but I seldom carry a full load so I can deal with that issue. Am I missing something that would make this idea unworkable/ill advised?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
